Discrimination and Harassment on the Basis of Race, Color, and National Origin Prohibited
Policy 2:270 - Student Friendly Grades 5-8
🌍 Respect and Fairness at School
Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and included at school. Our school does not allow discrimination or harassment of any kind.
🤝 Treat Everyone With Respect
At school, people must be treated fairly no matter:
- Their race
- Their skin color
- Where they or their family come from
- The language they speak
Differences make our school community stronger, and everyone deserves equal respect.
🚫 What Is NOT Allowed
These behaviors are not okay at school:
- Using racist, hurtful, or offensive words or jokes
- Making fun of someone’s culture, language, or background
- Excluding someone on purpose because of who they are
- Threatening, intimidating, or physically hurting someone
- Sharing or displaying offensive symbols or images
If behavior makes someone feel unsafe, uncomfortable, or unable to learn, it is not acceptable.
🗣️ Speak Up and Get Help
If you experience or see discrimination or harassment:
- Talk to a teacher, counselor, principal, or another trusted adult
- You may ask a support person to be with you
- You can report concerns even if you don’t want to use your name
Speaking up helps keep everyone safe.
🛡️ How the School Responds
When a concern is reported:
- Adults will listen carefully
- The school will look into what happened
- Steps will be taken to fix the problem and prevent it from happening again
The goal is fairness, safety, and respect for everyone involved.
🚨 No Retaliation
It is not allowed to:
- Get back at someone for reporting a problem
- Tease, threaten, or treat someone badly because they asked for help
Reporting concerns is the right thing to do, and students will be protected for speaking up.
⭐ Our Shared Responsibility
In our school community:
- We treat others with dignity
- We respect differences
- We stand up for ourselves and others
- We help make school a place where everyone can learn and belong
